Form vs. Function

Being an online shopper myself, I personally look for websites that are aesthetically pleasing, appealing to my style and websites that are easy to use. Additionally, websites that are conveniently set up tend to attract more shoppers. When the form and function of a website are working together properly, the website is usually successful.

Form:

  • The form of a website has to do with the strategic set up of the advertisement for targeting customers. For example, the headline some websites use that catch on with people is strategic planning of the company.

Function:

  • The function of a website deals with the use and navigation of the website. When the form of a website cooperates with the function, shoppers are able to easily use the website and are more likely to come back.

The function of a website should clearly be valued most by customers rather than form because the function relates to the experience and whether or not you have a returning customer.
