The functionality of a website is one of the most important aspects of its design, and because of this, I do not believe that consumers who shop online should value the website’s visual format over the functionality. Going along with this, website developers and businesses should also be aware of their priorities in terms of these aspects. Without functionality, the website will not drive conversions, no matter how well it is formatted. On the other hand, format is also important for driving conversions, because customers must be able to find what they are looking for without too many clicks. Because of this, it is important to efficiently blend the form and function of a website to reach the best possible outcome. Based on all of these assumptions, I believe that form and function are equally important for a website, rather than one being more valuable than the other.
