PPC vs. SEO

The age old question about which one is better but is there really one definitive answer? There are pros and cons to both and it all depends on what you’re looking for and what you’re trying to accomplish.

Why SEO?

SEO is free to use which is one of the most attractive things about it. It can help gain you traffic while being as cost effective as it gets because there is no cost. This is a good way to just build your following and get your name around more but you need to stay on top of it with key words and phrases so you can capture your audience.

Why PPC?

This is a lot faster of the two opportunities, you will see results from your campaign immediately. Because you’re paying it is also the first thing people will see, you take precedent and your ad will appear at the top of the page. It obviously costs money but it gives you a little more in depth of data and if you have some disposal income it could be a good investment.

Cons

SEO is more time consuming and requires more work, it takes a long time to see results and needs to be continuously monitored while sometimes being overwhelming. PPC obviously cost money and the more competitors there are the cost could continuously rise and you never know what it will be. Once you stop paying the ads stop as well and it’s not like activity slightly declines it completely stops.
