Ad Campaigning: The Basics
Advertisement campaigning is a crucial aspect of selling a product or service, and with effective use can be very beneficial. Knowing who you need to target, and how that will be done is the first step in the right direction. It is essential to also market across various platforms, having a diverse strategy will help to reach the most consumers. Those companies who can have effective, but not overwhelming ads seems to be the most successful. I think the most effective campaign strategies include those who target the consumers emotional side. For example, showing how a product can benefit a friendship, relationship or feasibility in life. Consumers constantly crave a product or service that is going to make life more convenient and will be used frequently. All of these tools makeup the basics of advertisement campaigning.
Clearly, there are certain companies who have distinguished themselves and used slogans, logos, design, etc that stick throughout society. One for example is the slogan from Nike, “Just Do It.” Pretty much everyone knows that this pertains to such a company, and why it is so motivational. Nike is known for their athletic apparel, and this slogan just adds to the peak of motivation for athletes and consumers of Nike Products. “The primary factor that makes an ad campaign successful is how appealing an advertising message is to the target audience.” Clearly Nike is targeting an audience who is primarily athletic, or enjoys wearing the brand for comfort. Nike knows that about their audience and having a motivational slogan and consistency from time to time hooks their consumers.
