Being creative is helpful, but is it required?
Creativity is a great skill to have, it really helps to engage with users. But it is not the end all be all in creating a report. If you know what you are talking about and can express your thoughts in a clear and concise way that’s okay. Some people appreciate simplicity and the creator getting straight to the point. Creativity however does enhance the audiences ability to visualize what you’re talking about and can help them understand your content.
It isn’t a bad thing to outgrow your old self or old ideas.
There are articles that say things such as “Be creative, or die.” Creativity is not do or die but in an era of change it doesn’t hurt to go with the flow. As consumers values change it is our job to accommodate them, consumers crave stimulation and if we can provide that for them we have a better chance of resonating with them and making an impact. If you’re not creative that’s okay but trying to become more creative can be a good thing, getting out of your comfort zone in order to get your message across is a good thing and should be encouraged. Not in a way that says be creative or else you won’t accomplish anything but in a way that says if you do change a little it might help in the long run.
