Tracking user data is an extremely controversial subject regarding how companies advertise. Many people see this practice as an invasion of privacy and shady on the part of the company using this strategy. Even though many people do not like this practice, it provides extremely useful information for businesses marketing teams. Using the data collected by tracking customers gives insight into the mind of the consumer and can help marketing teams predict what the customers will do next. However, if a company does this too much and ruins the trust with the consumer, they may be turned off from purchasing or working with the company. Tracking user data is and will continue to be controversial but it does provide benefits for marketers. The marketers need to be careful when using it as to not put off customers and clients.
