When you search Google the first results are usually ads. Large businesses typically pay large amounts of money to be placed at the top of the search ad results. But can you beat out your competition by spending more money to do this?
Money Buys Probability Not Clicks
Putting in more money than your competition will put your add higher on Google’s results page. But being higher on than the other search ads only buys you a higher probability that people will click your ad, not the clicks themselves. If your ad isn’t what consumers are looking for than it doesn’t matter how high your ad is, no one is going to click it.
Just putting money into your ads to get them placed higher isn’t going to help you beat the competition. You need a good ad that applies to what your consumers are looking for. Otherwise, you are just spending money while your competition gets clicks.
